OK, so the Celtics traded away an expiring contract of a guy who’s out for the year, and a big who didn’t do much but breathe thinner air in the 7 Foot Club/fulfill the “reserve center” quotient on the team, and in return got a guy who could possibly come off the bench for 15 points a night?  For a team desperate for some reserve guard play I’ll fahkin take it!  Besides, as one and many on the twittah have pointed out, the Celtics love them a good guard who’s a streaky scorer and can’t play D worth a shit.
Welcome to your new lease on life, Jordan Crawford.  You’re gonna like being a member of Gang Green.
Also - PHEW! - thrilled Ainge didn’t blow the team up and trade away the heart (KG) and soul (Pierce) of the Celtics.  Yeah yeah, wonk wonk, I know.  Many of you lit me up for not wanting these guys dealt.  That sentiment is not a welcome trait for a good GM in sports.  Right, which is why I AM A FAN.  I get paid tons of fake money to NOT have to make those decisions.  And as a fan, and former player himself, they have to be rusty-knife-twisting-in-the-junk painful for Ainge, I’d imagine.  So thank you, Ainge, for ding your job and due diligence and seeing what was out there and how to best improve the team we all love.  And thank you for keeping the old dogs around a little while longer.  This is the time of year these old C’s give it their all and do their thing.  Just give them enough fresh legs to make their run, have some fun, and hopefully win a playoff series, and especially be a thorn in the dick of the Heat.  D-League Whatshisface and Jordan Crawford may just be those legs, too.  Plus, Jeff Green still has some hops in him.  The Force got real friggin strong with that one.  His baseline dunks are the shit.  And I still say the facial on Bosh a few weeks back was the individual Celtics highlight of the season.  So far.
The Nuggets owed the C’s one after the triple-OT thrillah.  And the Lakeshow had their sentimental night, which might very well have been the closest they get to the playoffs.  Second half of the season officially re-begins NOW.
From the Wiz (hell) to the C’s (heaven).  Enjoy it, kid, and make the friggin most of it, woudya?
GFY, NBA!  S’GO C’S!
